Lawyers for Russian punk band Pussy Riot say the group will not ask president Vladimir Putin to pardon their two-year prison sentences.
Last week, band members Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich were found guilty of hooliganism motivated by religious hatred for performing an anti-Putin song in Russia's top church.
"Our clients will not ask for a pardon," defence lawyer Nikolai Polozov said.
"Literally this is what they said: 'Let them go to hell with their pardon'."
The three women stormed the altar of Moscow's Christ the Saviour Cathedral in February wearing bright-coloured balaclavas and clothes to belt out a "punk prayer" against Mr Putin.
The song included lyrics condemning the church's open support for the state and called on the Virgin Mary to "throw Putin out" of power.
During their trial, Judge Marina Syrova detailed how the women's skirts rode up as they kicked their legs and how they crossed into an area of the church forbidden to women.
"Tolokonnikova, Samutsevich and Alyokhina committed an act of hooliganism, a gross violation of public order showing obvious disrespect for society," the judge said.
"The girls' actions were sacrilegious, blasphemous and broke the church's rules."
Both the US and the European Union have condemned the sentences as "disproportionate to the actions".
Mr Polozov said the defence team planned to appeal as soon as they received a copy of the verdict.
