Leighton Meester,: "I'm Excited To Move On From Gossip Girl"

Being an actress and musician isn't easy, but Leighton Meester makes it look like a breeze. This Fall, she wraps up her stint as Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl; she stars opposite Hugh Laurie in a new movie, The Oranges; and she returns as the face of Vera Wang's newest scent, Lovestruck Floral Rush. "Life experience is the number-one thing that inspires me and helps me to create," she explains. "I always want to feel challenged and inspired and excited."

To see what's next for her — and to find out what she does on her off days — read on for the Q&A.

BellaSugar: How do you think Floral Rush differs from the original Lovestruck?
Leighton Meester: Personally, I've grown a lot, and I think this actually very much reflects that. Lovestruck was really fun and exciting, and it represents that rush of being young and in love — that love-at-first-sight feeling. Then Floral Rush is that next step. It's still a fun scent, but a little bit more grown-up.

BellaSugar: When you're not working, what's your beauty routine like?
LM: I don't love wearing lots of makeup. I definitely love going completely bare, which is great because my day-to-day routine is really going to work and putting makeup on my face and having my hair done. You just get tired of that, and you want to take a break. And the more you do that, the better your skin is.

BellaSugar: I take it you're into skin care?
LM: I take really good care of my skin. I love facials and I love products, especially Tata Harper and Ren skin care. I love masks and scrubs and serums.

BellaSugar: The last season of Gossip Girl and The Oranges are both coming up, and you recently did a minitour with Check in the Dark. How do you do so much creative work and keep growing?
LM: I just love my work. I think that's the most important part of it. I'm excited to move on from Gossip Girl and let a new chapter begin. The Oranges is the perfect way to do that, because it was an incredibly stimulating and challenging experience. It was a completely different character than I've ever done, so that was amazing. As far as music, I am constantly inspired. I hope it always stays like that, because it's definitely a passion for me. That’s how I always want to feel.
